Homemade Char Kueh Tiaw

Looking at the last piece of beef in the refrigerator, I decided to make something Malaysian tonight.

Went to an Asian supermarket to get some eggs, bean sprout and fresh flat rice noodle.

25 min of preparation and cooking...

The forgotten mango

I seldom forget the food items I bought, especially not a mango.

We went to a beach four weeks ago. In one of the supermarket, I saw these really huge green mangos were on sale for 49 cents each. I am a huge huge sucker for mangos, and never let go of them during good price.

These were different from the typical large fibrous Mexican or the small yellowish Asian mangos. Green skin, humongous (about 1.5-2 times the size of Mexican mango), and were described as SWEET and FIBERLESS.

I decided to buy one.

Anyway, happily, we continued our outing for the day. By the time we reached home, it was almost midnight. Somehow, we totally forgot about it.

Today, when I flipped through my refrigerator to get a fruit, I noticed my fruit inventory is running low. All of sudden, that huge green mango popped up in my mind.

Hmmmm... I don't remember eating it at all.

I tried to search high and low in the kitchen, to no avail. After the dinner, I asked the Hubby if he remembered where he put the mango. He didn't even remember I bought one. He altered the passengers' seats these few weeks as we were having guests. Somehow, my instinct told me, it might still be inside the car.

I was right. I was so glad to find it hidden at a corner, under the Hubby's hat. Even more relieved to find it remained intact.

Of course, while nagging at the Hubby, I cut the mango into nice pieces for him. It was one of the largest, sweetest and juciest mango I have had to date. Oh boy, I'm so glad I remember it. It was so sweet I could only eat four pieces and let all the remaining finished by the Hubby.

Sorry no picture, as by the time I remember to take out my camera, the whole thing was cleaned by the Hubby.

At least the next time if I spot another one, I am going to buy it again for sure. :)

Hi, this is Reika

I am 19-month old and I was born on same day and month as Fish Fish. My mama has been a closed friend with Fish Fish for almost 10 years. This is the first time I met Fish Fish in person.

I am going to take over fish fish's blog for a few posts.

This was my first morning at fish fish's apartment after a long sleep. It was a very tiring trip for me and mama the day before, but we are ready to have fun around L.A. *kanipeace*

Buffet that made me slept so deep

I don't think I have ever had any lunch with the Hubby during his normal working day. As an exception, he miraculously called me, asking me if I wanted to join him for lunch at an Indian restaurant nearby our house. I did not know he was assigned to be a manager to starting today.

I thought he had only one companion, so I decided to join them. Turned out there were 4 of them! Oh shoot, now they all saw my temporary eye tattoo above my chest.

Anyway, it was a buffet style Indian lunch, which was pretty good. Quite authentic.

I had a bowl of instant noodle about an hour earlier, so I was half full. Still I ate quite a big plate lunch, with a quarter piece of nice warm naan, and the very sweet indian dessert and watermelon to end the meal. I could with twice the amount if not because of my late breakfast.

SD, the only Indian in our group, was joking we would get very sleepy later.

He was absolutely right. I was so so sleepy that I decided to have a nap around 3.00 pm. I didn't know anything after that. I was just sleeping and sleeping... until when I finally opened my eyes, it was an hour and 20 min later!!

It has been a long long time since I last had a nap, what more a deep nap like it, it felt good and bad at the same time.

Even with that long nap, I am actually very very dizzy now.

So, I'll just end here. Good night everybody.
